Welcome!

This is a humorous and sarcastic blog written by a paralegal in a mid-sized law firm in a mid-tier market. The goal is to share some of the pitfalls and foibles encountered in my own day-to-day experiences. Feel free to contact me at aparalegalslife@gmail.com with comments. Complaints, not so much :)

A Helpful Above the Law post! (No, really!)

I tend to avoid cross-posts to major sites, but this post today in Above the Law's Career Center column caught my eye.  It's a basic how-to guide for new attorneys on dealing with people who work for them (i.e. Paralegals and Assistants/Secretaries).  This simple post covers probably 90% of the major issues we regularly encounter with attorneys.  Speaking strictly for myself, I think it should be yearly required reading to maintain membership in any state's Bar.

Admittedly, I haven't been ATL's biggest fan at times, but I do give credit where credit is due.

I don't believe it... the article was actually practical. Could we make this required learning for new attorneys? Even just the point about assistants cannot read the attys mind would save HOURS and HOURS of wasted time.

I posted that on LinkedIn today. :-) Agree it's a very good article and should be mandatory reading for newbie attorneys
