Thought of the Day - Elevator Etiquette and Morning People

I work in a large building with too few elevators.  As a result, I inevitably have to share the elevator every morning with people from another floor.  Not usually a problem, until they violate Elevator Etiquette Rule #1 - No Talking!  What pisses me off are the types who insist on making banal chit-chat with total strangers regardless of how un-interested I appear.  After the third or fourth non-syllabic grunted response to your comments, JUST SHUT UP!!!  It's nothing personal, I'm simply not a morning person.  Just because you are, it doesn't give you the inalienable right to expect that I be just as chipper, cheerful and chatty at 7:30 AM.   I'll be quiet and polite, but don't expect intelligible conversation before 10:00 AM.  Again, it's nothing personal, just the way I operate.

YES! This is the worst! Elevator chat in general should be limited to "Have a nice day" or "have a good night" or something similar when you exit the elevator. That's it! haha. Love it!
