Welcome!

This is a humorous and sarcastic blog written by a paralegal in a mid-sized law firm in a mid-tier market. A Difficult Decision

I've been offered a higher-paying position at another firm.  While I like my current firm well enough, higher pay and a more senior position with a larger firm are very tempting.  Plus working for a smaller group of attorneys doing a more specific practice.

Also, there is something to be said for getting away from some of the crazies at my current firm.

I'll probably accept the offer, considering one BigLaw firm is as good as the next...

I don't mean to be rude in any way (and I say that 'cause sometimes things on the interwebs can be lacking in proper tone)...

What you write doesn't sound like a difficult decision. What's the other side? The co-workers you do like? The years served and therefore more vacation time?

Oops, I hit publish before I wrote and the most obvious part of my comment....Congrats on the offer!!

I hear you - when it comes to big firms, it's the same up here in Canada - one is just the same as the next. The smaller firms however, differ quite a bit in how they treat their staff.

Good luck in your decision!
