Short version: We need to start a formal nationwide organization to standardize the profession. Lawyers have the Bar Association, but all we have is a loose confederation of random toothless organizations. In my state, anyone who wants to call themselves a Paralegal can do so without repercussions. This is damaging to our profession's reputation in many ways.
