Welcome!

This is a humorous and sarcastic blog written by a paralegal in a mid-sized law firm in a mid-tier market. The goal is to share some of the pitfalls and foibles encountered in my own day-to-day experiences. Feel free to contact me at aparalegalslife@gmail.com with comments. Complaints, not so much :)

It's ending? Again?

Supposedly the end of the world Rapture happens this Saturday, May 21, 2011.  At least that's what the billboards on the interstate tell me.  If you Believe, then best of luck and I'll catch up to you when I'm done with my time in Purgatory.  Since the world doesn't actually end until October 21, 2011, we'll have 5 months of glorious post-Christianity to revel in, so I've got to get planning for my more hedonistic post-rapture lifestyle.

How much do you want to bet the lawyers still expect us to show up for work on Monday?  Presumably very few of them are going to heaven.  Don't they know it's The Rapture and we'll only have 5 months before the end of the world?  Plus, the roads will be a mess with all those earthquakes.

Since I still have a ton of survivial supplies left over from the Y2K fiasco, my house is well above flood level, and I don't live on a fault line, I'm giving myself at least 4 months before the locusts get me.  In the meantime, I'll enjoy myself fully with all the other sinners.

Join the discussion over at The Purgatory Panel!

Haha! I know I will for sure be working. I mean we still totally have clients with money in their retainers!

But what will their money get them? That is the key flaw in the legal industry. They will insist on money long after money is pointless. :)
