Welcome!

This is a humorous and sarcastic blog written by a paralegal in a mid-sized law firm in a mid-tier market. The goal is to share some of the pitfalls and foibles encountered in my own day-to-day experiences. Feel free to contact me at aparalegalslife@gmail.com with comments. Complaints, not so much :)

Busy Busy Busy

Sorry for the lack of postings this week.  I decided to accept the new position, and gave notice.  I've been swamped with updating my cases and bringing the paralegals who are inheriting them up to speed.  It's a huge task.

Useless Office Manager has been avoiding me like I have Leprosy.  Most Annoying Partner Ever hasn't spoken to me at all.  Can't say I'm sad about that.  Both are probably dreading my assessment of them at my exit interview with the Managing Partner.

Fortunately, most everyone else is taking the news well.  Secretly, I suspect most of the paralegals are happy that there won't be a reason to lay anyone off in the near future.  Even when leaving, I'm still doing them favors!

Congrats, GH! I know your new employer is lucky to get you, and you will be missed at your current job.

exit interviews - what a bullshit creation. If you're quitting to go to another job, it's because the other job will potentially be better and they didn't treat you well while they had the chance. So I say the hell with exit interviews - why do them any favours when they couldn't be bothered to do you any?

Congratulations. I have a post I believe you will find very helpful to you in this effort. Just use it in the reverse. Good luck, and please continuing blogging once you're settled into your new office.
