Welcome!

This is a humorous and sarcastic blog written by a paralegal in a mid-sized law firm in a mid-tier market. The goal is to share some of the pitfalls and foibles encountered in my own day-to-day experiences. Feel free to contact me at aparalegalslife@gmail.com with comments. Complaints, not so much :)

I don't think it means what you think it means

"We'll have it ready for you in 15 minutes" actually translates as "you'd better plan to eat dinner at your desk tonight".

"ECF filing" is redundant because "ECF" stands for "Electronic Case Filing".  You're actually saying "filing" twice.

That deep sigh I just made was NOT one of contentment, but resignation.

"You have plenty of time" means "get this done right now".

...ATM machine; PIN number; military intelligence; VIN number; I'm sure there are others! :)

I long ago discovered that "Something has come up..." means "I have known about this for over a week, but now that it needs to be done in 24 hours, I'm handing it to you."
